The Campaign for Guaranteed Healthcare organizes to win improved Medicare for All – a single-payer healthcare system. Access to healthcare is basic to human dignity, and we will oppose any attempts to repeal, privatize, or undermine the healthcare of anyone anywhere in the United States. We see the movement for healthcare justice as a central component of a broader movement for social and economic justice that we stand in solidarity with. We represent patients, workers, healthcare providers, and affected communities. As a nation, we pay more for healthcare than any other country. Far from getting our money’s worth, we face massive barriers to care; large inequities based on our race, class, gender, immigration status, geography, and disability status; and medical debt that routinely leads to financial ruin, bankruptcy, and housing insecurity. Our country is at a critical crossroads for healthcare: we cannot afford to go further down the road of poor access paid for by high and rising costs, and we won’t stand by while Medicare is voucherized, Medicaid is block-granted, the Veterans Administration privatized, and public support for workers’ and low-income peoples’ healthcare is cut. Instead, we will fight back and win a moral and economically sustainable healthcare plan. Through nationally coordinated actions, public education, and lobbying, the Campaign for Guaranteed Healthcare will organize for the healthcare system Americans deserve and can have: improved Medicare for All that costs less and covers everyone.
