@IndivisibleIndiana is a central hub and launching pad for meaningful, national and statewide calls-to-action that support progressive principles. @IndivisibleIndiana is a community of non-violent citizen activists called to action by the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States. Though he lost the US popular election by millions of votes—Donald J. Trump will attempt to steer the current congressional majority to reshape America into a nation of racism, misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia, and authoritarianism—an image that he believes will make America great again. Donald J. Trump has communicated nonsensical rhetoric that threatens to degrade critical, long-held international relationships with NATO and other US allies—and he has continually demonstrated admiration for— and has come to the defense of—some of the world's most toxic and lethal dictators. We must stand indivisibly opposed to Trump and the state and federal legislators and members of Congress (MoCs) who take measures to execute the Trump agenda. Together, we have the power to resist—and we have the power to win. We know this because we’ve seen it before. We saw it when right wing extremists formed and galvanized the Tea Party. We saw activists take on a popular president with a mandate for change and a super-majority in Congress. We saw them organize locally and convince their own MoCs to reject President Obama’s agenda. Their ideas were wrong, cruel, and tinged with racism—and they won. We believe that protecting our values, our neighbors, and ourselves will require mounting a similar resistance to the Trump agenda—but a resistance built on the values of inclusion, tolerance, and fairness. Trump is not popular, he has no mandate, and he is without large congressional majorities. If a small minority in the Tea Party can stop President Obama, then we the majority can—and must—stop Donald J. Trump.
