Many Languages One Voice builds immigrant power in Washington, DC.

Our projects include:

*Hosting the DC Language Access Coalition: Administering 44 organizations that serve DC's Limited English/Non-English Proficient populations; advocating that all residents of DC equitably access to public benefits.

*SMART (Student Multiethnic Action Research Team): Supporting a youth-led decision-making body which advocates and organizes for better education for English Language Learner students and their families.

*Health Organizing: Educating and organizing immigrant workers on issues such as healthcare access, workers' rights, and broader language access issues. MLOV's health justice work includes the Nail Salon Project, which works with primarily Vietnamese-speaking nail salon workers, to address the occupational health and safety issues associated with nail salons.

*Know Your Rights Trainings: Trainings inform community members of their rights under 2004's Language Access Act, which guarantees a right to interpretation services at all public entities, as well as the right to file a complaint if language access rights are violated.

Many Languages One Voice (MLOV) fosters leadership and facilitates community-led initiatives to increase the meaningful inclusion of people in the District of Columbia who do not speak English as their primary language.
