National Women's Liberation (NWL) is a feminist group for women who want to fight backagainst male supremacy and win more freedom for women. We believe thatchange comes about from the actions of everyday people--not politicians,the courts, lobbyists, or the media. The freedoms we have now were wonby movements of women, organizing and fighting for change. Men did notbecome less sexist or decide to give women the vote or legalize birthcontrol because of our individual abilities to reason with them, educatethem, or because they love us so much. The inequalities between womenand men are political problems that require a collective solution.The leadership andparticipation of women of color is critical to the success of thewomen's liberation movement; National Women's Liberation addresses struggles particular to women of color and racism within the feministmovement through our Women of Color Caucus. NWL has chapters in New York City and Gainesville, FL.
