Our membership, voting annually at the state conference, is the supreme governing body of NOWNJ. Those members are part of localized state chapters and issue-oriented taskforces, from which NOW-NJ draws its broad grassroots strength. Every level of leadership is elected, and the NOW-NJ State Board is made up of 8 elected leaders plus representatives elected by the chapters. We are proud that the same people putting up the posters and engaging in local activism are the same people who serve on the NOWNJ State Board. As an all-volunteer organization that is funded entirely by the generousity of it's membership, NOW-NJ's issues and priorities are secure from being bullied or bought. In addition to NOW-NJ and the local New Jersey Chapters, NOW-NJ has two sister organizations. NOW-NJ is affiliated with the NOW-NJ Foundation and the NOW-NJ PAC, two separately funded and self-governed organizations. The NOW-NJ Foundation is a 501c3 charitable public education organization and the NOW-NJ PAC is a political PAC that recruits and endorses in political campaigns and elections. 'I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat.' -- Rebecca West Contact Ocean County NOW: oceancountynow@gmail.com Lynda Fote, President Helen Fitzsimmons, Vice President Janice Vittes, Treasurer Joanie Parks, Secretary For more information on the National Organization for Women: www.now.org
