PPL promotes intersectional social justice though community service, political action and self defense. Strong communities are the real security service, and the real safety net. Follow for information and public events! People's Protection League was formed to increase community engagement in politics and the activities of daily life. We wish to provide a platform that gives people the information, support and organization that they need to build a world based on a collective mindset, radically inclusive feminism and racial inclusion. The group does not emphasize militant action, and acknowledges that strong community is the ultimate form of social safety. We are not a liberal group, we are however very keen on multi-tendency discussion of goals and tactics. We are building: 1. Intersectional social justice. This is the understanding that everyone is a little privileged and a little oppressed, that we all come from unique backgrounds with unique stories. 2. Direct action for the interests of the oppressed. We want viable, publicly controlled replacements or confrontations to the solutions offered by capitalism and the state. 3. Assistance with protective services for all those who are victims of violence. Police, gang, domestic, racial and sexual violence must be opposed on all fronts. Protecting those whom the police will not protect or prioritize. This includes confronting fascism in all of its forms. 4. Educational services. No society can survive without information on how it can be run. We will arrange education that provides an analysis of history, left theory, social justice and organization. We will also provide consulting to liberal and left activist groups in need of a fresh strategic or tactical analysis. 5. Direct community engagement. People in this world are caught up in many struggles. We want to listen, provide advice, and allow your voice to join ours. We all have different needs and priorities, and we want each person to find or build their organization. Core beliefs: 1. Worker Control. This means people's control over production and an economy built around human needs. 2. Feminism/queer theory. Women, transgender people and queer people have too long been treated as less than human. As if they are some how deficient. Cutting humanity in two or more pieces in unacceptable. 3. Anti-racist. Racism is a tool of the ruling class to divide the working class and deflect blame away from itself. It manifests as violence and deprivation and cannot be accepted. 4. Radically Democratic. While our group accepts people of many socialist tendencies, we all agree that the bourgeois/state is violence on the behalf of the ruling class. Therefore, communities themselves must democratically choose their own future. 5. Pro-Working Class. If your existence is predicated on your employability, or threatened by the lack thereof, your fate is tied to ours. 6. Anti-fascist/Anti-right populist. We are currently witnessing the rise of an ultranationalist, antifeminist, antiqueer, pro-capital power grab. This cannot be allowed to proceed. 7. We must listen. Most people have experiences that are quite different than ours. We must listen to the voiceless, the poor, the women, the brown, who have long been excluded from organizing by people who are louder. This is a space for everyone. 8. Mass orientation. Not everyone is in the same place politically, but our hearts are in the right place. We place noble goals over specific ideologies. 9. The power of education. We all have something to learn, and something to share. 10. Strategy. Ensuring that every action plays into the long term objective of building a better world, as opposed to opportunism and self benefit. We are committed not only to those who cannot wait, but the long term as well.
