Virgin Valley Action Group - Mesquite, NV and surrounding areas Virgin Valley Action Group is a citizen advocacy group pledged to protect civil liberties, the environment, access to health care, immigrants and refugees, women, people of color, members of the gay and lesbian and transgender communities, and any other group, people, or issue threatened by national, state, or local policies. Anyone who shares these goals is welcome to join us regardless of political or religious affiliation. The Virgin Valley Action Group will discuss prominent issues affecting our communities, county, state, and nation. Action members who wish to volunteer their time are urged to join a committee whose objective is in line with their interests and develop an action plan with group goals. These activities commonly include but are not limited to • Researching and following legislation status and changes • Monitoring websites for the most current information on issues • Verifying and compiling factual information for distribution at group meetings and events • Seeking personal stories from the community where the issues have had an impact • Phoning, emailing, and/or writing our state and federal representatives to voice concerns • Assembling our group and like-minded groups in planning and attending phone banking, rallies, and protests • Meeting with other action members outside of VVAG to discuss and plan objectives • Reporting on achievements of actions or goals Registered with Indivisible.org vvactiongroup@yahoo.com
