The purpose of GLOW Progressives is to INFORM and INSPIRE ACTION on local progressive issues. Posts that belong here are ones that MOTIVATE others to make the GLOW region a better place. With that in mind, here are some basic guidelines: Be sure your post is relevant to the group. - If you are not sure that people will understand why you’re posting, then explain. - Suggest actions that members may take if they agree. Abusive comments and profane language are prohibited; attacking other members will not be tolerated. - We are a diverse group; we appreciate and respect that diversity. - Attacking a member is very different from discussing an idea. If you’re concerned that your response might cross that line, take some time to think before posting. - Keep it G-rated and keep the discussion focused on the pros and cons of ideas, not people. Moderators reserve the right to delete or close threads that do not follow guidelines, and to mute or block users who do not follow guidelines. Expect the following: - Moderators may ask you to edit your posting. We would prefer that you do this to keep discussion alive. Please do so immediately; we really dislike removing threads. - Moderators may close or remove threads. Unless the post is egregious, we will ask you to rephrase first. If a thread has been closed or removed, please speak to a moderator before reopening or reposting. - Moderators may mute the member in order to have a private discussion. Expect a PM if you have been muted. - After repeated violations, or in the event of abuse directed at the mods, moderators may remove and block members from the group. We try not to go there; don’t force it.
