Description Greater Lafayette Progressives aims to address issues of democracy, social justice, economic justice and peace. We aim to act on issues of concern through political campaigns, education, direct action, and grassroots organization. We are committed to the following principles: *Accountability of government, corporations and the media to the needs of people and communities. * An end to all forms of discrimination including discrimination based on race, religion, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. * Promotion of workers' rights, including the right to a living wage and a safe workplace. * Protection of the environment and improvement of environmental quality. * Assuring citizen access to high quality education, health care, and other social services. * Electoral reforms aimed at maximizing citizen participation in political decision making. * Protection of civil liberties and voting rights. * An end to corporate influence over the political process * Putting human needs ahead of profits.
